Hobbs, Ong &
Associates, Inc. ("Hobbs, Ong") of Las Vegas is the State's only Nevada-owned,
independent, full service, financial advisory firm. When founded in 1996, Hobbs,
Ong affiliated with Public Financial Management ("PFM") to provide governments,
agencies, and business organizations with the most comprehensive blend of
national and in-state expertise and experience available in Nevada.
The
founders of Hobbs, Ong & Associates, Inc., Guy S. Hobbs and Katherine W.
Ong, are the preeminent consultants in Nevada on the State’s governmental
tax structure and local government financial administration. They have over
30 years of combined experience in Nevada public financial administration. This
experience includes the financial management of Clark County with an annual
operating budget of nearly $2 billion, administration of issuance of more than
$2 billion in bonds and other forms of indebtedness, capital and financial planning
for one of the fastest growing communities in the nation, and the development
of budget and control systems for one of the most complex urban county governments
in the country. The founders also have significant experience in the development
of state and local tax policy and have become a highly regarded source of information
and support to the Nevada State Legislature and local governments. The wide-ranging
services offered by Hobbs, Ong are backed by unmatchable experience in Nevada
municipal finance. Hobbs, Ong is the only Nevada-owned, independent financial

PFM
was founded on the sole principle of providing sound financial advice to municipal
governments without the conflict of interest that is inherent with underwriting
firms. From the beginning, the firm has served only the issuer, and does not
sell trade or underwrite municipal securities. In addition to PFM’s transaction-based
financial advisory work, PFM also provides extensive financial planning services
and acts as an investment advisor. PFM’s investment advisory and arbitrage
rebate services represent the firm’s commitment to satisfying all the
financial needs if its municipal clients.
The Team combines the number one financial advisory firm in the nation, PFM,
and the number one financial advisory firm in the State, and the only Nevada-owned,
independent full service financial advisory firm, Hobbs, Ong. Over the past
ten years, PFM has been ranked by Securities Data Corporation as the leading
financial advisor (including investment and commercial banks) to municipal clients
nationwide. PFM has ranked number one in the industry two of the last three
years, completing 611 transactions with a total par value of $31.2 billion in
2002.
In Nevada, over the past 9 years since joining together, the Team has completed
108 financings for a total par amount of over $7.1 billion.
Unlike any other single financial advisory firm in Nevada, the Team provides
